LINING
In the textile industry, »lining« refers to the inner lining of a garment. It is its core aspect and usually an invisible but important detail. In the »Lining« exhibition, graduates from Reutlingen University specializing in textile, fashion and knitwear design are showing their final theses from their bachelor's degree and thus the core aspect of their training. Particular attention is paid to values such as team spirit and the care taken in the research and design process.
"Linening" also includes the word "line", which symbolizes that the students are connected, but at the same time each and every one of them follows their own line, their own way. In the way of creative language, research or the creative process, some of the works presented transcend personal, creative and social boundaries. The exhibition presents the extraordinary design possibilities in textile and fashion design, which combine creative and practical knowledge. The exhibits convey and underline this process from the first sketch to the implementation and presentation of the product.
As their first final semester, the students in the fields of textile design, fashion design and knitwear design have decided to have a joint exhibition at the Kunstverein Reutlingen for the first time, which is based on three and a half years of creative and personal development. 15 artistic and creative positions with a very individual signature can be seen as well as an interactive performance instead of a conventional fashion show.
