The exhibition series Kunst Reutlingen is an important constant in the cultural life of the City and District of Reutlingen: Since 1950 the format has given visibility to the region's high-quality art scene, strengthened its players overreaching gene-rations and linked artists from Reutlingen and the surrounding area with each other. Being a cooperation of Kunstmuseum Reutlingen | Galerie and Kunstverein Reutlingen the juried show provides an overview of the current activities of art producers living and working in Reutlingen on two floors of the Wandel-Hallen.

134 artists ranging in age from 19 to over 90 years who live and work in the City or District of Reutlingen answered the open call for entries and in March each submitted two current works, all common artistic genres (painting, drawing, printmaking and collage, photography, sculpture and installation) were re-presented. The final selection of exhibits for the comprehensive show was then made after careful consideration by a panel of jurors who viewed and discussed all applications. The jury is newly assembled for each edition of Kunst Reutlingen and this year consisted of Dr. Melanie Ardjah (Director Kunsthalle Göppingen), Martin Schick (Director Galerie der Stadt Backnang), Romy Range (Managing Director Künstlerhaus Stuttgart) as well as Imke Kannegießer (Director Kunstver-ein Reutlingen) and Johannes Krause-Schenk (Deputy Director Kunstmuseum Reutlingen). Together they selected almost 80 works by 57 artists.
